We are the only organization in the world focused on the human cost of animal experimentation and the uniquely intimate, often painful bond between lab workers and the animals they try to care for.
Founded by former lab workers who experienced firsthand the comfort of confiding in each other about their shared background, Justify is a groundbreaking organization that provides a safe and supportive space for those grappling with the emotional burden of animal research, empowering them to share their experiences and advocate for change.
How we’re ending suffering in science
- We empower lab workers to speak out: By offering emotional support and resources in partnership with legal and mental health experts, we help current and former lab workers heal and share their stories. Their firsthand accounts challenge public trust in animal research and expose its human and animal costs.
- We build public pressure through truth-telling: Through media campaigns, storytelling, and investigative partnerships, we raise awareness about the psychological harm to lab workers and the systemic flaws in animal research, shifting public opinion and creating momentum for change.
- We elevate ethical alternatives: By spotlighting human-relevant research and highlighting researchers and organizations spearheading NAMs, we build support for better science and challenge the myth that animal research is necessary or effective.
- We foster unlikely collaborations: We create dialogue between researchers, advocates, and policymakers, reducing division and making it possible to reimagine scientific progress together.
- We advocate for systemic change: Through partnerships and coalition-building, we push for funding, policy, and cultural shifts that prioritize humane, effective science over outdated animal-based methods.
Justify is catalyzing a movement where animal lab workers are heard, science prioritizes compassion, and a more just future for humans and animals becomes possible.
